Been here twice now. First time we had the burger and it was delicious. Unfortunately I tried the steak second time and it had no flavour whatsoever so I was glad for the pepper sauce. Creme brulé almost made up for it though, gorgeous.

It had been a while since visiting this wonderful 15th century inn. So on passing, on our way back from West Mersea, we decided to pop in for a pint.
It hadn't changed, and it would be a shame if it did. Nice bar, serving food as well. Nice range of local ales and other beers. Courteous staff, albeit a little abrupt and in need of careful training in hospitality. However, no worries as the service was quick, the ale perfect and the surroundings awesome.
We will be back when in the area for, maybe, a meal. -

Long time since I'd been here but last night took advantage of a TravelZoo offer and the mrs and I eat for£35 inc a glass of bubbles, Italian ones. food was very very good, service a little slow though and we got our coffee before our dessert. Nevermind though we will go back and enjoy the food again
